Stainless Steel 321 Slip-On-Flanges

When it comes to industrial piping systems, flanges play a crucial role in connecting pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment, ensuring a secure, leak-proof joint. Among the different materials used for flange manufacturing, Stainless Steel (SS) 321 stands out due to its excellent resistance to high temperatures, corrosion, and its remarkable durability. At Ferrobend, we specialize in producing SS 321 Slip On Flanges, offering high-quality, precision-engineered solutions for a wide range of industrial applications. SS 321 slip-on flanges, the advantages they offer, and the meticulous manufacturing process at Ferrobend that ensures our products meet the highest standards of quality.

Stainless Steel 321 Slip On Flanges

SS 321 Slip-On Flanges are a type of pipe flange made from Stainless Steel 321, a heat-resistant alloy containing titanium. The term "Slip-On" refers to the design of these flanges, where the pipe slides into the flange and is then welded in place. This design makes SS 321 slip-on flanges ideal for applications requiring ease of installation and excellent strength at elevated temperatures. SS 321 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), and titanium (Ti), with the titanium added to stabilize the structure of the alloy. This makes it an ideal material for industries that deal with high-temperature processes, such as aerospace, chemical processing, oil & gas, and power generation.

SS 321 has excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, even in high-temperature environments. It can withstand temperatures up to 900°C (1652°F) in continuous service, making it suitable for both high-heat and moderately corrosive conditions. Thanks to its titanium content, SS 321 resists corrosion from a variety of chemicals, including acids and organic compounds. This makes it perfect for use in aggressive industrial environments. The titanium addition in SS 321 ensures superior weldability, even in conditions involving high-temperature exposure. The addition of titanium stabilizes the alloy, preventing the formation of chromium carbide at the grain boundaries. This enhances the overall durability of the flange in high-temperature environments.

The quality of a finished flange is largely determined by the raw material used. Ferrobend sources only high-quality SS 321 stainless steel from trusted suppliers. This ensures that the flanges have excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile strength, resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and reliable performance under extreme conditions.

The slip-on flange design requires that the pipe be inserted into the flange before welding. At Ferrobend, we ensure that each SS 321 slip-on flange is thoroughly inspected, and the bore is carefully designed to match the corresponding pipe dimensions. This ensures an accurate and secure fit during installation.
